Wonderful starter. I also recommend using cache:
$director->cache->set('cache'.$albumID,'+10 day');
In this case, I pull $albumID from a tag in a WP page to keep the cache separate for each page (From the support page: "Instructs the DirectorPHP class to cache this request. The required key parameter is a unique string to cache the response with, and should be different for each page you set up. The expires
parameter is optional and defaults to '+1 hour', meaning the cache will
expire in one hour. Other examples include '+5 minutes', '+1 day', etc."). My content per album doesn't change a lot so the longer "+10 day" parameter is better for me, but note the default is 1 hour. Check out photosensate.com to see images pulled from SSP Director into the Galleria Azur theme.

As far as I know, unless you use an iframe, you can't. You can however, make a php file that resembles your HTML. For a start, change your HTML page to a .php page. It should still work exactly how it does today. From there, weave the actual php code into the HTML.

Any new examples of this? Have people moved on to other solutions?

I can't seem to get the Galleria to load correctly the sspgalleria.php is communicating and getting files from director just not generating the viewer.

There are several factors here. The post I wrote is really about storing photos, not really for Time machine backups, which can be sort of fixed in size. For each Mac on Time Machine, I'd go with 3x the hard drive size. And unless you upgrade the drive(s), the size you need, depending on how far back in time you might need to go, doesn't change a whole lot.

There are a few other thoughts on this. If your Drobo FS fails, at either the chassis level, or, depending on how you have it configured, a single or dual drive failure, what is the replacement cost of all that, and can you buy one "down the street" if needed? Yes, where I am, I can walk into B&H and buy one, but it isn't exactly something you can get in a inch from a local store in most cases.

Lastly, Crash Plan, Mozy, Carbonite, it doesn't matter. That is my backup of last resort - I like to have a near same speed backup/restore as a local drive. But for the purposes that time machine covers, having a secondary copy of the time machine backup drive may be overkill for some.

I have Time Machine, on each of my Macs, going to single, standalone 2TB USB drives hanging off an Airport Extreme, and, I use Carbon Copy Cloner to a different 2TB partitioned to match the Mac's drive structure, and it is that CCC drive that I swap in and out.

I'm not so sure your argument is against Drobo so much as against an "all-Drobo" solution in a specific "rotating-drives-offsite" setup. You yourself don't even trust a single solution (i.e. you use Mozy). My personal choice is Time Machine to a Drobo FS (for 3-4 different Macs in my home), along with CrashPlan Central. No drive-swapping required (other than periodically upgrading the Drobo FS's HDDs). My out of pocket is around $850 initially for the Drobo FS and a couple of 2 TB drives, plus $10/month for CrashPlan Central, plus around $200 to pre-"seed" the CrashPlan Central backup (not required, but saves a ton of uploading time). So I don't have to trust my local Mac's copy, my local time machine copy (Drobo FS), or my cloud copy (CrashPlan Central), because I have all 3. Any thoughts on this, Joe?

Looks like Galleria has a plugin to fetch SSP xml galleries.

Unfortunately I could not get it to work, but my skills in coding are close to non so...
If someone could look into this it would be very helpful.

I'm not sure if you mean that you just want a link to a notes document, in the typical fashion, or, you want the document as an actual attachment as it's contents.

If you just want a link to the Notes document, get a handle to the notes document you want to attach, and get the doc id and replica id of the database it is stored in, and create an anchor tag "a href= to a notes:// style link
The format is:
notes://servername/db/view/doc
where db can be either the Replica ID (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!) or the actual filepath/name; view and doc can be either the real names or aliases or UNID, which can all be obtained by parsing however you are getting a handle to the NotesDocument.

Or, you can attachment any kind of document to a MIME mail by adding in a child entity (CreateChildEntity()) to the main body, set the header to a content-type with a value of mulitpart/mixed, set a content-disposition to attachment;yourfilename, set a content-ID to the same, create a stream, pull in that file as binary, in the child, do a SetContentFromBytes of that stream, setting the correct mime type - e.g. application/pdf or image/gif,
close the stream and put all this before you fire off the final send. Hopefully that sets you on the right path, if not, have a look in the v6 forums - http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd... for the notes:// stuff, or search for mime types, and/or content disposition and ENC_IDENTITY_BINARY.

Yes, Scott's web site, http://scottwyden.com/ is running it. The "Portfolio" link in his menu runs it currently.
He is also beta testing SSP Director's new mobile version (if you access it from a smartphone or iPad).

Based on the research I did when i wrote this, I would say there are probably a number of other sites that use it in some variation. If I hear back from any more, I'll post an update.

Sorry for the long wait on the reply - while the code above could be modified to loop through and create XML, you might be better off having a look at these:

Have a look and let me know if that gets you anywhere. The original problem I had in using the XML input to Galleria was that is isn't very customizable without walking the xml document and parsing what you what. Using the php and html output, and formatting it with the CSS provided much simpler customization for what I needed to achieve.

Hi, thanks for the post. I got your code working with my cakePHP website with a little modification but then I noticed that there is a SSP plugin (http://github.com/aino/gall... for Galleria. It expects an XML file.

Is there a way to grab an outputted XML file from Director using cURL? I've tried but I can't seem to generate an output. Here's the code I am using:

Hi Joseph,
instead of your fruit snoot I use a bigger tea bag (of course without tea!) and fix it with a rubber band.
The results are quite similar to yours - a much softer light and no spotlights!

The @NotesDomain lets the router know the address is an internal one. Similar to using CN/OU/O format, but in "internet address" style.

Yes, once you save it in the mail.box, the router treats it just as if a mail arrived into the box through "normal" means"

Does the mail get removed from the mail box once it's saved and picked up by the router?
